Firm finds porn posted on its website

CHENNAI:The CEO of a software developing and website design firm filed a complaint withthe the suburban commissionerate on Wednesday alleging that pornographicpictures were placed on his company's website after it was hacked. MKaleel Rahman alleged that his company's business site was hacked earlier thisweek and only after a client had pointed it out to him did he become aware ofit. When he logged on to his company sites, www.csystems.in andwww.dreamwareindia.com, Rahman was shocked to find pornographic materialgreeting him. In his complaint, Rahman stated that his website washacked into on January 23. It was noticed only on January 26. He sought policehelp in identifying the perpetrators of the act that had cost him significantbusiness losses. Speaking to TOI, Rehman said, "We have beenoperating for the last four years. Apart from carrying out projects for thecentral government and affiliated bodies, we also have a major clientbaseabroad. Most clients stay in touch with us online and our website plays a keyrole in our business dealings." He believed that someone with malicious intenthad planned to hack into the site and place the pornographic material, knowingit would affect the business.Rahman alleged that he suspected one ofhis former employees. "Only few people have access to the website's internalfeatures. To completely re-structure it in the way it was done, you have to knowthe password and other security details. Some people had to be laid off to cutcosts and I suspect one of them might have hacked into the site. It has cost mea lot of business and I will have to incure further expenditure to repair thesite."SR Jangid, commissioner of police (Chennai suburbs), referredRahman's complaint to cyber crime officials. CCB sources said that the IPaddress from which the site was hacked has been traced and that the pranksterswould be caught soon.
